We stand on the King James Bible

What if you died today, do you know for sure that you would go to Heaven?

Many people, even in churches, have the idea that being good will get you to Heaven. Being good is good, but that is all it is. It is not good enough for access into Heaven.

Titus 3:5 says, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost."

Ephesians 2:8&9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

If you had to be good to get to Heaven (go to church, keep the 10 Commandments, give to the poor, etc.), then you would be earning it and there would have been no reason for Jesus to die.

However, it would be impossible for us to earn salvation through good works because everything we do (before we are saved) is sin. Proverbs 21:4 says that even when an unsaved person does something that most people would recognize as good, like plowing his field in order to provide for his family,it is sin. Scripture goes on to say, "Whatsoever is not of faith is sin."

So, we cannot get to heaven by being good, and everything that we do is sin. Oh well, big deal. Right? Well, it is a big deal because there is a punishment for sin.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

But dying is not the end of it, there is Hell.

Scripture tells us in Luke 16 about the rich man that died and in Hell he lift up his eyes being in torment. He begged for just a drop of water for he was tormented in the flame.

Hell is not the end through. There is the Lake of Fire.

You see, death and hell will give up their dead and they all will stand before God on that dreadful day of Judgement. When their names are not found in the Lambs Book of Life, they will be cast into the Lake of Fire to be tormented day and night for eternity (Revelation 20:11-15).

I hope that if you are lost, that by now you are asking, "What must I do to be saved?"

Realize that you are a sinner and believe God's Word that you are deserving of Hell.

Understand that you cannot save yourself through good works.

Repent of your sin, for Jesus said, "REPENT!" Matthew 4:17 and in Luke13, Jesus said, "I tell you, Nay:but except yerepent, ye shall all likewise perish."

Believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him Should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Acts 16:31 says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved"

Ask Him to save you.

Romans 10:9, 10, and 13 says,"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Just Repent, Believe and Receive the gift of everlasting life. Do it now!
